Thank you for your interest in working for RSL Care WA. Please read the following notes carefully, as they are designed to assist you in applying for an advertised position. One the completion of your application, please ensure all relevant documentation is attached.

How to Make an Application

All applications should contain the following information so that the selection panel can fully appreciate and understand the capabilities of all applicants.

  • A completed Application for Employment.
  • A resume outlining a summary of recent work experience, details of all qualifications and a minimum of 2 work references.
  • A series of statements/paragraphs which concisely descirbes how you meet the Key Selection Criteria as stated on the Position Description.
  • Any other relevant supporting documentation.

How to Respond to the Key Selection Criteria

A typed response should contain a series of statements or paragraphs which concisely describes how you meet each of the criteria points, demonstrating how you have gained the relevant skills through education, previous experience in the workplace or through personal life experience. You may wish to give examples of situations where you have demonstrated the required skill or solved related problems.

What Happens Next?

1. Short Listing

After the closing date all applications will be evaluated based on relevant experience, qualifications, and responses to the key selection criteria. The most suitable will be sort-listed and invited to attend an interview. Those applicants who are not short listed will receive a letter thanking them for their interest but they have not been successful at this time.

2. Interviews

A selection panel will interview the short-listed applications. Interview questions will be based on the Key Selection Criteria and highlight important aspects of the Position Description. Applicants can expect to be questioned on some further issues, to enable the selection panel to gain a greater understanding of their knowledge and skills. Second interviews will be conducted to separate the final applicants.

3. Post Interview

After interviewing, the selection panel will short-list successful applicants to proceed through the following testing:

  • Federal Police Check
  • Pre-employment Medicals
  • Reference Checks

4. Selection

The applicant who demonstrates the highest overall level of merit shall be recommended for appointment to the position.

5. Appointment

The successful applicant will be offered the position as soon as possible after a decision has been reached. All unsuccessful applicants will be notified once this occurs.
